While I may not have vivid memories of that momentous day, I am well aware of the significance of your triumph and the lasting impact it has had on Indian cricket and our nation.
You see, back in 1983, I was just a wide-eyed, curious 5-year-old, oblivious to the world of cricket and the magnitude of the events unfolding at Lord’s. While I may not recall the thrilling matches, the spectacular catches, or the nail-biting moments, I have come to understand the profound significance of your victory and its enduring legacy.
Over the years, as I delved into the history books, watched replays, and listened to the stories shared by my elders, I realized the magnitude of what you achieved. You didn’t just bring home a trophy; you brought home a sense of pride, hope, and unity to an entire nation.
